- The musical legacy of Pavel Vranický (1756-1808) is extraordinarily extensive and rich in original characteristics.
- This native of Nová Říše na Moravě quickly established himself as a symphonic composer shortly after his arrival in Vienna.
- Both Haydn and Beethoven respected him. Haydn entrusted him with the production of his great oratorio Creation (1799) and Beethoven himself asked him to conduct the premiere of his first symphony in 1800.
- Pavel Vranický's works still speak to audiences today.
